Patient CareThrough the KIDNEY STONE CLINIC Dr. Monga offers comprehensive coordinated care that emphasizes state-of-the-art minimally invasive surgeries and a multidisciplinary approach to preventing stone recurrence. The kidney stone clinic is open Mondays 8am-4pm (UMMC Riverside) and Thursdays 1pm-4pm (UMMC University).
ResearchDr. Monga is the Joseph Sorkness Family Endowed Professor of Urologic Surgery. He is recognixed as an international authority in endourology and stone disease. He has been an invited speaker in India, Thailand, Brazil, Italy, Greece, Mexico, and the Netherlands as well as Visiting Professor at many of the major medical centers in the United States. He has published over 150 peer-reviewed manuscripts. His current research focuses on:
1. Prospective Clinal trials in the areas of: a. Promoting kidney stone passage b. Modifying surgical technique to minimize patient discomfort c. Stratifying the therapeutic approaches to kidney stone disease
2. Medical device evaluations a. Design and development of novel instrumentation b. Systematic independent evaluations of available instrumentation: a "Consumer Reports"
