Greetings and welcome to the University of Minnesota Dept. of Urologic Surgery. Our department was established in 1930. It has had a long and illustrious history. Throughout its history, our department has been at the forefront of urologic clinical care, education and teaching and for many years, has been recognized as one of the premier Urology programs in the country. As in the past, we continue to lead innovative and pioneering efforts in a number of areas of urology including cancer, stones, infertility and pediatric urology. Our department has trained numerous residents and fellows over the years, several of whom have gone on to become world leaders in Urology today. We are one of the national leaders in surgical education through simulated training. We have several strong and well funded research programs in a variety of areas in urology. We take great pride in our tradition of excellence and are strongly committed to strive to greater heights in patient care, education and research.
